Letter to a Friend

Bishop Brewster--
I could not thank you enough for the amazing example you have been to me.  You have taught me so much and have made such a big impact on my life.  I will never forget all of the fireside testimony meetings that you led because the Spirit was always so strong there.  And how could I ever forget our little white water canoeing adventure at Teachers & Priests high adventure camp?  You taught me a great lesson that day.  After the guide had helped save our lives your first instinct was not to worry about yourself, but to show gratitude and selflessness.  The first thing you said was, "Marshall, tell the man 'Thank you'."  I have never forgotten that.  I want you to know that I will do my very best to develop those traits on my mission.  Also, know that I am praying for you and your family each day.  Last night I realized how great of a man you truly are when I was thinking about you.  I realized that had your body been laid to rest that day at high adventure camp, today, or in 50 years from now, it would have made no difference as far as how I would remember your life.  That is because you are a man who has always been prepared to meet God.  I know without a doubt in my mind that we will see each other again one day and that when we do, it will be in the presence of the Lord our God; and that our joy will be full.  I can say with a sureity (sic) that as you stand before God, He will say, "Well done thou good and faithful servant.", because he knows even better than I do that you truly are a great man.
                                                       Love,
                                           Elder Marshall Kent Henrie
"God be with you 'til we meet again"
